Cruisin Classics is proud to present to you this 1970 Chevrolet Impala Convertible. This bright red beauty has recently had tons of mechanical upgrades and is ready for some top-down, fun-in-the-sun cruisin. Originally a Forest Green car with dark green interior and a white top, it now sports a much more desirable combination of red with tan interior and black top. The power convertible top is new and it operates quickly and easily. The red paint looks great from a few feet away but on closer inspection is driver quality. There's a fair amount of brightwork to break up all the red with rocker covers, side accent molding, wheel lip molding, door edge guards, and dual chrome side mirrors. The chrome on both bumpers is driver quality and there is a small dent in the center of the rear bumper. Both front fenders feature 350 badging ahead of the wheels and Impala script to the rear. This Chevy has a great, even stance as it sits atop it's Magnum 500 wheels wrapped in white letter BF Goodrich Radial TA's. When you lift the hood, you'll find a clean, tidy, and generally stock looking engine bay. At the center rests a new GM 350ci V-8 Crate Engine with less than a thousand miles on it! The engine is topped with an Edelbrock intake, 4-barrel carburetor, and chrome air cleaner as well as chrome Chevrolet logo valve covers. That's not even close to all though – there's a new alternator, new water pump, new AC compressor (upgraded to 134A), and all new belts and hoses. The V-8 is mated to a freshly rebuilt TH350 automatic transmission. The drive shaft has recently been balanced, a new u-joints installed, and the rear end has been upgraded with new Moser axels. The 10-bolt rear also features a chrome rear cover plate. The radiator was recently upgraded to an aluminum Dewitt's Racing radiator with dual electric fans to keep things running nice and cool. The brake system has been completely replaced with a new 4-wheel power disc system from The Right Stuff in Westerville, Ohio. The master cylinder, booster, lines, discs, calipers, and pads are all new – the only original component is the pedal itself! The suspension received equal attention with all new shocks, springs, and bushings. The entire suspension system was rebuilt and painted with “Chassis-Saver” anti-chip paint to keep it looking nice for years to come. All 4 wheel bearings were replaced at the same time as well. The exhaust from the cast manifolds back to the tailpipes has been replaced with new and sounds great. When you open the driver's door you are greeted by a well-kept tan interior with a vinyl bench seat. Both the front and back seat feature OEM style vinyl and are free of any tears or worn spots. The tan carpet is in similarly good condition and is protected by carpeted floormats. The door panels are in good condition and have Rockford Fosgate speakers mounted in them. The OEM steering wheel is backed up by power steering. The dash is in good condition, features woodgrain inserts, and houses the climate controls that push out hot heat and cold A/C. Also mounted in the dash is a Kenwood AM/FM/CD head unit to provide cruisin tunes. Mounted under the dash are 3 AutoGage gauges for oil, volts, and water as well as a manual fan button. Around back in the trunk you'll find a full spare with factory jack, a tan boot cover (for shows, not driving use), a car cover, a couple bag chairs for the next car show, a subwoofer box, and an MTX audio amplifier to really crank up the tunes. As you can see, this Impala has been thoroughly sorted out mechanically and is ready for years of care-free enjoyment. This is a turn-key classic that's ready for anything – a cruise in the country, a night on the town, or the next local car show – just hop in, hit the key and go!
