Cruisin Classics is proud to present the latest car to hit our showroom – this stunning 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe. This Mustang was purchased new from Ricart Ford here in Columbus, Ohio back in 1965 and is still in the Buckeye State 58 years later. Originally born a Dynasty Green car with white interior and black trim, it now sports a very nice driver quality Poppy Red paint job to accent the original interior color scheme. Up front, the bumper, supports, grill, logo, and turn signal bezels are all in very good condition and gleam in the light. Nice looking trim continues down the sides of the car with drip edge molding, window trim, dual side mirrors, emblems, rear quarter panel ornaments, and bright door handles all catching the eye. The chrome rocker trim on both sides looks nice, but is starting to show some wear. The back end of the car looks just as nice as the rest with a bright bumper and supports, chrome exhaust tips, Mustang gas cap, reverse light bezels, and the original Ricart Ford emblem. This Pony sits atop steel wheels with OEM wire spoke hubcaps and faux knock-offs wrapped in good quality Hankook Optimo H725 tires. Under the hood is a clean and tidy engine bay which houses the C-code 289ci V-8 with a 2-barrel carburetor. The engine looks great with gold valve covers and gold air cleaner. A look around the engine bay lets you know that this is a well-optioned car – air conditioned with a Ford compressor, power brakes with a new booster and dual resevoir, and a Ford power steering unit. The healthy 289 is mated to a C-4 Cruise-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission that shifts perfectly. Stopping power comes courtesy of a 4-wheel disc brake conversion. When you open the drivers door the courtesy lights come on to reveal a great looking white interior. The door panels are in good condition and feature OEM correct handles. The vinyl bucket seats look exceptional with no rips or tears and very little sign of any wear. Between the bucket seats is a full factory center console in very good condition that houses the shifter for the automatic transmission. Between the console and the dash is a factory-ordered, dealer-installed A/C unit that wears a Ford emblem and pushes out nice cold air. The dash is crack-free and in good condition. The glovebox wears a nice running horse emblem and the light inside works. There's a Retrosound-style AM/FM radio that plays through a dash speaker and a 6X9 on the rear package tray, providing a nice cruisin' soundtrack. The OEM steering wheel is in good shape and the horn still works. The wipers, heat, and fan are also in working order. The white vinyl headliner is clean and tight. The black carpet is in good condition, but has faded to more of a dark brown. The carpet is protected by black, carpeted, logo floormats. Back to the rear of the car, the trunk contains a plaid vinyl mat, a full covered spare, a jack, a car cover, and an original set of horns. If you're on the hunt for a first generation Mustang coupe, then slow down and take a really good at this one. Not only is it great looking but well-optioned, with rare Ford A/C that blows nice and cold. Give our staff a call today before someone else puts this beauty in their garage first!
