Cruisin Classics is proud to present this beautiful 1965 Volkswagen Beetle. This Beetle has been restored with a focus on keeping it as OEM correct as possible. It really does look like it just rolled out of a showroom in 1965. Volkswagen made a number of significant changes to the Beetle in 65 that made it a nicer car to drive. Most importantly, VW significantly increased the area of all windows on the car – especially the rear. Other notable changes include an improved heater,a more powerful wiper motor and longer blades, a fold-flat rear seat, thinner more contoured seats to provide more comfort and leg room, and swivel sun-visors. This Beetle is dressed in slick dark red paint and bright chrome – it's really eye catching! The brightwork is great all over the car – bumpers, light bezels, trunk center molding, body side-molding, handles, running board trim, side mirror, and exhaust tips all gleam in the light and look spectacular. The car sits upon silver painted steel wheels with VW moon hubcaps and beauty rings, all wrapped in Nankang white-wall tires. In the front trunk, you'll find it is fully carpeted in grey and has a bias-ply spare with a carpeted cover and a jack. In the rear you'll find a 4 cylinder 1.2 liter 1200cc aluminum-magnesium engine that is rated at 40 hp. Engines in Beetles are not number-specific to the car, but this engine is era correct to 1965 as is the 4-speed manual transmission. The engine compartment is clean and stock in appearance. When you open the drivers door the courtesy light comes on to illuminate an exceptionally nice gray and white interior. The door panels are two-tone white and gray and the drivers side has a map pocket. The vinyl bucket seats are two-tone gray, comfortable, and obviously re-done. A new chrome EMPI sill plate leads to nice newer gray carpet. The white steering wheel with horn ring and turn signal lever are OEM correct and in great condition. The red painted dash is accented by a chrome strip that runs across the center and white knobs and buttons for the controls – it's a great look! The dash features a speedometer, gas gauge, working AM radio, ashtray, wiper switch and fluid button, light switch, passenger grab handle, and glovebox with original owners manual. The shifter for the manual transmission is on the floor and features a white shift ball with pattern diagram. Getting into the back seat you'll notice coat hooks, assist straps, and an ashtray. Behind the rear seat is a carpeted storage area, which becomes quite sizable if the back seat is folded down. On the road this Beetle handles well with its independent front suspension and telescopic shock absorbers. The car is fun to drive and shifts well, just don't plan on winning any drag races. If you are a fan of OEM correct old-school Beetles then you're going to just love this one – it checks all the boxes!
