Cruisin Classics is proud to present this 1983 AMC Jeep Wagoneer Limited. This was the last year of the SJ-body Wagoneer Limited, before Jeep shuffled their line-up and renamed it the Grand Wagoneer and applied the “Limited” designation to their new, more compact XJ-body Wagoneer. This is the same Wagoneer that became the literal “gold standard” of SUV's into the 90's. Looking at this example, it's sure easy to see why they're still so popular! This Wagoneer was originally white, but now sports a driver-quality Deep Midnight Blue paint job that it received in 2015. We were told that the faux woodgrain finish was redone at the same time as the paint – which makes sense because it looks very nice now, with no fading or wear. The front end of this Jeep is a real attention-getter. It has a very early Wagoneer grill (we think from 63-65) known as the “Rhino-Chaser” grill. It's vertical bars and round headlights give this Jeep a very retro feel. Included with this sale are 2 extra grills – the correct 1983 “Pig-nose” style and the final iconic 90's grill – should you feel the need for a different look over time. Both the front bumper and headlight bezels have a little pitting and haze, but still show well. From the side you'll notice a roof rack with woodgrain inserts, chrome window trim, dual side mirrors, cool wrap-around tail lights, and 15” aluminum multi-spoke wheels with red, white, and blue Jeep centercaps and Hankook Optimo H724 white-stripe tires. Around back is a tailgate with retractable power rear window and a tow hitch receiver under the bumper. Under the hood is a bone-stock engine bay housing a 360ci V-8 mated to a 3-speed automatic with “Selec-Trac” 4-wheel drive. You'll also notice that it is equipped with power steering, power brakes (disc/drum), and it has a newer under-hood matting. Open the drivers door to find a nice tan interior with plenty of creature-comforts. The leather bucket seats with cloth inserts are comfortable and in good condition. Both seats feature power adjustments, but the recline is inoperative on both. Between the front seats is a larger fold-down armrest for added comfort. The door panels are in generally good condition, but show a little wear. The drivers door has power controls for locks, windows, and mirrors, though some of the window switches operate intermittently. The cloth headliner is in good condition, as is the newer tan carpet. The driver is treated to a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, tilt wheel, and 2-speed wipers. Woodgrain trim inserts flow from the door panels onto the dash to create an upscale look. The factory climate controls on the upper left dash are not operational, but under the dash to the drivers right are controls for an aftermarket A/C system that blows nice cold air (but no heat). The old aftermarket stereo mounted in the center of the dash does not work, but in the glovebox you'll find a Kenwood unit with Bluetooth connectivity so that you can use your phone to control your cruisin tune selection. Also on the dash is a switch to change from 2 to 4 wheel drive and back. On the floor to the left of the center tunnel is a lever you can use to switch from 4WD low to high. It is important to note that when starting this Wagoneer, it must be in neutral (can be shifted back into park after starting). In the rear storage area are the 2 additional grills mentioned earlier, a box of misc. parts, a cover, jump cables, a charger, and 3 extra factory wheels with gold between the spokes. While you can see that there are some small areas that could use updating or repair, this Jeep drives nice, looks fantastic, and has nice cold AC. Fully restored Grand Wagoneers are going for upwards of six figures now and this is an opportunity to get into a really nice running and driving one for under $30K. Don't wait to call about this one, somebody is sure to snatch it up quickly!
