Cruisin Classics is proud to present to you this unbelievably cool 1970 Pontiac Trans Am! This Norwood-built car was born in late June of 1970 dressed in Polar White paint with a Blue interior and it still wears the same colors today. This beauty has undergone a full rotisserie restoration with a high driver quality Polar White paint job on top and factory-correct red oxide paint on the underside. The slick white paint is split by blue racing stripe decals on the hood, roof, and rear deck lid. Accented by this blue stripe is a shaker hood with a rear-facing blue air scoop rising from the engine below. The front end is a real eye-catcher with its Endura nose - featuring a split, black egg-crate grill with bright surround flanked by single round headlights set in gleaming bezels. Above the center of the grills is a “screaming eagle” decal in good condition. Beneath the grill is a chin spoiler that wraps around the sides and flares ahead of the front wheels. Moving around to the side you'll notice the hidden windshield wipers, bright trim on all windows, dual body-color side mirrors, front fender air extractors with a Trans Am decal beneath, a Ram Air decal on the hood scoop, bright door handles, and body side aero flares ahead of the rear wheels. Window glass is in good condition all around and body gaps are consistent. The excitement continues around the back with a 3-piece rear deck-lid spoiler, mirror-finish bumper, bright tail light surrounds, hidden gas fill behind the license plate, dual exhaust with polished tips, “PONTIAC” lettering, and a “Trans-Am” decal on the rear of the spoiler. This whole stunning package rolls down the road on factory Rally II wheels with PMD center caps and beauty rings wrapped in Goodyear Polyglas GT bias ply tires. Under the shaker hood is an amazingly clean engine bay that is home to the numbers-matching Ram Air III 400ci 6.6 liter V-8! This Pontiac Blue block is topped with chrome valve covers and a 4-barrel carburetor as well as the air scoop. You'll also notice it is equipped with power steering, power brakes (disc/drum), cast manifolds, and a Delco battery topper. All of the hoses, belts, lines, and wires appear newer. This V-8 is mated to the original (#'s matching) TH400 3-speed automatic transmission and 12-bolt rear end with 3:55 positraction gears. There were only 1,339 Trans Ams built in '70 with the combination of the Ram Air III engine with automatic transmission – making this one very rare bird! When you open the driver's door the courtesy lights all come on to illuminate a beautiful blue interior (1970-only offering). The two-tone blue door panels are in very good condition and feature an armrest, pull handle, window crank, and driver's mirror control. A bright Fisher Body sill plate meets high-quality hook & loop carpet to invite you inside. The two-tone blue vinyl bucket seats are in excellent condition and quite comfortable. The back seat is a bench back with bucket bottoms (due to the large tunnel) and it is in flawless shape. The rear package tray behind the seat is unmolested. Between the front seats is a center console with an armrest/storage box, seatbelt holders, shifter for the automatic transmission, and a storage slot. The crack-free dash features a grab-handle for the passenger above the glove box (which contains an original owner's manual). This Trans Am is outfitted with the Rally gauge cluster set in an engine-turned aluminum instrument panel bezel that looks incredible. The gauges, including the speedometer and tachometer, all work as they should. Only the clock is inoperable. The heat and fan controls to the right of the gauges work as they should, as does the AM push-button radio beneath the bezel in the center of the dash. The two-speed windshield wipers work well, just in case an unexpected shower passes by. The driver gets to enjoy a factory 3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel on a tilt column. Above head, you'll find a tight blue vinyl headliner and two sun-visors. Back in the trunk is a doughnut spare with a hounds-tooth vinyl cover, new vinyl trunk mat, blue vinyl logo floor mats, and a book with photos of the matching numbers and some documentation (unfortunately, there are no photos of the restoration). If you've been searching for a 70 Trans Am you are well aware of their rarity, and the difficulty of finding one that's not only numbers-matching but restored to a high level of quality. THIS IS THAT CAR! Words and pictures just don't do justice to how well done this Pontiac is! Don't take my word for it, come in and take a look at it for yourself – you will not be disappointed!
