Cruisin Classics is pleased to present to you today this awesome little 1971 2-tone convertible VW Beetle! This bug just oozes charm! The blue and cream paint job looks great and the color combo is a definite winner. Bright trim abounds, and serves as a beautiful accent to the paint. Both bumpers have a mirror shine and their black plastic molding strips are in equally good shape. The headlight and turn signal bezels gleam in the light, as does the hood center spine and VW logo. Quality brightwork continues with dual chrome side mirrors, door handles, window trim, and side accent molding. The running boards are rock solid and are dressed with newer rubber matting. The windows have newer-looking dew wipes and the door gaskets look newer as well. The tan convertible top is in excellent condition and it features a glass rear window. The boot cover is in the same great shape as the top and it gives the car an unmistakably cool look when you put it on. Around the back, you'll find a trunk lid with four sets of vents, clear tail light covers, and chrome exhaust tips. This Beetle sits on cream-painted rally wheels with bright VW hubcaps on top and some nice bias-ply Firestone Deluxe Champion white walls wrapped around – a spectacular combination. Beneath the vented rear lid is a 1600cc 4-cylinder VW engine that runs as great as it looks. The engine bay is exceptionally clean and it's brightened up with a chrome air cleaner atop the carb. This 47hp powerplant is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly. At the front of the car is a carpeted front trunk that contains a full radial spare on a rally wheel and a factory jack and tool kit. Open the driver's door to reveal a nicely done tan interior. The door panels appear new, as do the handles and window cranks. The seats are all in very good condition with no rips or tears and they appear to have been recovered. The beige carpet looks to have been recently replaced and the tan seatbelts (front and back) look new. The driver is treated to an original-looking steering wheel with working horn ring and a Wolfsburg center logo. The dash is rather spartan (like all Beetles) with a speedometer, gas gauge, and a couple warning lights. In the center of the dash is a JVC AM/FM/CD stereo that's definitely a notch above factory spec. The passenger side of the dash is home to a grab-handle and a glovebox that contains some photos of the complete nut & bolt restoration this bug went through (we do not know when this restoration took place). On the floor between the seats you'll find a shifter for the 4-speed transmission with an aftermarket handle and a black boot. If you peek under this Beetle you'll find a clean undercarriage with solid floorpans, a newer sway-bar with poly-bushings up front, and drum brakes on all 4 corners. If you're looking for a cool old-school Beetle then you'll find a lot to love about this one! It's got a fabulous look, nice paint, bright trim, a newer top and interior, and it runs like a sewing machine! It's impossible not to grin ear to ear when you tool around with the top down in this beautiful bug! Give us a call and make it yours today.
