Cruisin Classics is pleased to present this 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix. This luxurious 4th generation Grand Prix comes to us today with a mere 40,964 actual miles on the odometer and it certainly looks the part of a low mileage car. It is dressed in a good driver-quality respray of Starlight Black paint that shines nicely. The hood is contoured in a “V” shape with red pinstriping accenting the bulge and a chrome spine running down the center - culminating with a vertical “GP” ornament at the pointed tip in front. A bright split waterfall grille is flanked by dual side-by-side headlights with turn indicators in between. A gleaming chrome bumper with black rub-guard sits beneath and completes the great-looking front end. Looking down the side of the car you'll find copious bright work that pops against the slick black body, including wheel lip molding, rocker molding, body side molding, window trim, and door edge guards. The look includes dual body-color sports mirrors and color-keyed insets on the door handles. The top of the car is graced with an exceptionally nice padded black vinyl Landau top with fixed opera windows accented with “GP” insignias. The red pinstriping from the hood continues along the sweeping upper body line of the car and flows onto the “V”-shaped trunk lid that mimics the hood. Cool styling continues at the rear end of this Pontiac with vertical side marker lights, chrome-trimmed vertical rectangular taillights with “GP” insignias, a trunk lock cover sporting a Pontiac “dart”, a hidden gas fill behind the license plate, and another bright bumper. This slick Grand Prix rolls down the road on a set of grey Pontiac Rally II wheels all wrapped in white letter BF Goodrich Radial T/A's – a perfect combo for this ride.
Lift the big hood to find a very stock engine bay with a 301ci 4.9 liter V-8 in the center. The engine is topped off with a stock intake, a 2-barrel carburetor, and a factory air cleaner. The V-8 is mated up to a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the wheels via a 10-bolt rear end. While under the hood, you're bound to notice that this is a well-optioned car - with power steering, power brakes (front disc, rear drum), and working factory A/C!
When you open the driver's door you're greeted by a beautifully preserved stock red interior illuminated by working courtesy lights. The long OEM door panels feature ashtrays for the rear seat passengers, a pull handle, a driver-side mirror toggle, and bright trim. Both doors, the rear side panels, and the dash are all graced with genuine African Crossfire Mahogany facing that takes the interior to a whole new level of luxury. The 60/40 split front bench seat with fold-down armrest has red vinyl covering the base, sides, back, and headrests while the seating surface is a very soft fabric with a buttoned diamond design on the back. The style of the back seat mirrors the front and both are like new, stain-free, and very comfortable. Underfoot is a nice red factory carpet with carpeted logo floormats and overhead is a tight red vinyl headliner. The dash is crack-free and in excellent condition. The instrument panel features round gauges with bright trim set in a stunning wood bezel. There are working gauges for fuel, battery, oil pressure, and temperature as well as a speedometer and a non-working clock. To the right of the gauges are the climate controls that offer cold A/C and hot heat with a strong fan on demand. Beneath that is a Retro AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo that sounds great as it plays through a dash speaker as well as 2 speakers on the rear package tray. The passenger side of the dash has a grab-handle and a glovebox that contains an original owner's manual, maintenance schedule, warranty booklet, and accessory catalog as well as instructions for the aftermarket stereo. Directly ahead of the driver is a 3-spoke red steering wheel with faux wood trim and a working horn on a tilt column with a column shifter. Around back in the clean trunk, you'll find a full spare, a jack, and a new set of window felts.
Looking at this stylish and comfortable '77 Grand Prix, it's easy to see how Pontiac sold over 288,000 of them that year – it's a simply gorgeous car! This black beauty is very well-optioned and turn-key ready for a new caretaker to hop in and enjoy today. Give our friendly staff a call and be the lucky one who gets to put this awesome Pontiac in their garage!
