Cruisin Classics is proud to present for your consideration this awesome 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport. When we found this car we were so happy to see that it had been left a Malibu Sport the way it was born – instead of being cloned into a fake Chevelle SS like so many others. This Chevy was born Matador Red with a Black Vinyl top and has been repainted the same body color, but this time with a white painted top that looks spectacular and really makes the car pop. The chrome trim that separated the vinyl top from the body is still present and it creates a great accent. Chrome continues with nice bumpers, drip rail molding, window trim, dual side mirrors, door handles, side accent molding, and dual exhaust tips. The eggcrate grill flanked by dual headlights and adorned with a Chevy 3-star emblem makes for a great looking front end. The front fenders both feature Malibu script emblems and 327 badging. This Malibu has a great stance as it sits atop its 5-spoke American Racing wheels wrapped in Ironman iMove Gen 2 tires. Under the hood you'll be pleased to find the original numbers matching 327 V-8 sitting in a clean, painted engine bay. The 327 is topped off with a 4-barrel Edelbrock carburetor and a chrome Chevy logo air cleaner. You'll also notice chrome valve covers, power steering, and HEI ignition while under the hood. The V-8 has a suffix code specific to a manual transmission pairing and it is mated to a 4-speed Muncie transmission with a 1966-7 casting date – making it era correct. The Muncie puts power to the road via a 12-bolt open rear end. Stopping power is provided by power 4-wheel drum brakes. Open the drivers door to reveal an original looking black interior with a black vinyl bench seat – the way it was originally ordered. The seat is comfortable and in good condition, as is the rear seat. Door panels appear original and are in good condition. The steering wheel looks original and does have a few cracks typical for its age. The black vinyl headliner is tight and in good condition. The dash is crack free and houses working gauges and a very cool “rolling tachometer” in the center. Also in the dash is a non-working aftermarket stereo. The Hurst shifter for the 4-speed is on the floor in the center and features a white shift ball. There is an original owners manual in the glovebox and an aftermarket charging port mounted under the dash. Around back in the trunk you'll find a plaid vinyl mat, full spare tire, a jack, and 2 black vinyl floormats. This Malibu Sport is a sharp looking, strong running, numbers matching cruiser that just needs a new owner to turn the key and take advantage of all it has to offer. This ride is sure to sure to be a hit at any cruise-in and will garner thumbs-up and smiles wherever it goes! Give us a call before it's gone!
